Struggling to find the right gift? We’ve all been there.

Why Is It So Hard to Buy Presents?

For me, the main person I’ve always struggled to shop for is my Dad. He’s notoriously tricky—either he never knows what he wants, he asks for something at the very last minute, or he goes out and buys the exact thing you were planning to get him!

That exact frustration was the main spark for starting this site. Hard to Buy For is built to track, plan, and share genuine gift ideas—from funny and thoughtful keepsakes to unique finds that produce a genuine “wow” moment, even for the most difficult people on your list.

Featured Gift Ideas & Quick Inspiration

Here are just a few tried-and-tested ideas to help kickstart your present search:

• Personalised Popcorn & Treat Bowls: I bought one of these for my wife a couple of years ago and it went down brilliant. We still use it constantly for popcorn, crisps, and movie nights.

• Bicycle Pizza Cutters: Perfect for cyclists or anyone who appreciates a fun kitchen gadget. Getting one in a color that matches their real road or mountain bike adds a great personal touch.

• Novelty Chocolate Pizzas: You’re paying for the novelty, but these are absolute winners for Secret Santa, pizza-obsessed teenagers, or gifts intended for people to share.

• Experience Days: When someone genuinely doesn’t need more “stuff,” experiences are the way to go—think Afternoon Tea, stadium tours, supercar driving days, or hot air balloon rides.

• Tech & Useful Gadgets: Tech is fantastic if you have a specific request, but versatile extras like high-capacity power banks, multi-port USB-C hubs, quality headphones, or smart plugs are almost always appreciated. Amazon Or Currys

• Nostalgic & Retro Fun: Retro sweets, classic cartoon merchandise (like Wallace & Gromit or vintage Disney), board games, or custom photo gifts on socks, mugs, and canvases bring back great memories. @Zavvi – Pokemon, Anime, Trading Cards, Funko Pop,
